I am really enjoying your writing. You capture so much of what I fear has gone wrong with this country.

I grew up rurally in the west and I was submitted to all the cultural mosaic propaganda and it wasn’t until fairly recently that I realized people actually believed this stuff.

Another interesting piece. I think though that the horse is out of the barn, if even Bernier is being duped into posing for multi-culti photos akin to hostage photos of looking down the barrel of a gun.

If the recent Diwali riots and fights in Brampton have taught me anything is that *that* is the future of the country, writ large, at least in former post-war suburbs. I don't have an answer for this, only that I'm trying to self-segregate myself as much as possible into a similar cultural sphere of my own wherever I can find it. I note that, in downtown Toronto, I was one of the few wearing poppies. Only older Boomer whites and a smattering of young ones - perhaps fellow Substack readers - were wearing them. Anyone Chinese, Indian, etc., not a chance.

So Don Cherry was right.

He was and paid the price for it. I haven't followed hockey - or watched the CBC - since. One of my better decisions actually. If Poilievre does follow through on defunding the CBC I'll tip my hat to him.

Well, I can't forswear hockey, but I agree with defunding the CBC. I am 65. I was raised as a child on the CBC. It was part of the national culture of Canada. No longer. My children never watch CBC and have no understanding of what role it played in the national consciousness at all, so they wouldn't miss it. All that money can be put to better use. As can the almost unimaginable river of money flowing to indigenous interests. That has to be stopped.

I'm 50 and it's not what it was, not even close. Its sole purpose now seems to be the opposite of its original mandate: highlighting division; stoking ethnic, sexual and cultural grievances; bloodsmearing, denigrating and libeling Canadian history, and in general acting as a propaganda conduit for every leftist group and cause that cares nothing for Canada, only what they can get out of it. It can disappear tomorrow and I could not care less and if anything would improve this country greatly.

Including any online presence. The CBC continues to stoke the grievance narrative by publishing any indigenous related article and doing absolutely no fact checking. AND allowing no rebuttal or questions. It's criminal. For that alone the CBC in all its forms deserves to die.

Great piece. Trump may be the first real president. World is opening up again now.

The Civic Nationalist values they espouse are race communism anyway.

They're rooted in things like multi-racialism (within one family), no fault divorce, self-hatred of patrimony.

From the immigrant/non-white POV it's saying become a cuck & you can join us.

NO.

Better a racist who wants to kill you than a commie who wants to turn you gay.

Multiculturalism is a tool of the centre v the provinces.

So Ottawa v Quebec.

It's also DC vs the GAE though - you might see a less white canada be more pro-America.

I just want 1/2a though - machine guns for everyon!

Kudos to you for maintaining a sober mind during this postelection time of blissed-out drunkenness. You’ll avoid the hangover that is to come with the perfidious policy and appointments of the MAGA administration.

> Elon fulfilled the ancient internet prophecy that all public forums with no censorship become right wing, simply because of the objective truths.

I’m trying to think of some counterexamples to test this idea, and… it’s hard! They tend to fall into two categories:

1. Interest-based communities like HackerNews, which you linked to. It’s not RW but relatively uncensored.

2. Rationalist spaces like LessWrong. These are people who can and do talk to the LW and to the RW regularly.

Canada at this moment has no identity other than the managerial woke identity.

Canadians are not generally serious people and or have been cowed into apathy by mass propaganda and demoralization

We do not have community any longer. We do not have any power structures that can resist the massification and managerialism of the state.

Canadians need to build communities, families and structures of people that resist and can rise to the challenge in this mess.

Also your last paragraph repeated.
